Status of Compliance with the Requirements

This website is as far as possible compliant with the AA conformance level of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines – WCAG 2.2. Incompatibilities and exceptions are listed below.

2.1 Incompatibility with Accessibility Requirements:

• The website provides PDF documents for download that are currently not accessible.
  If you need assistance with non-accessible PDF documents, please contact marketing@harischhotels.com.
  We will try to provide the content in an appropriate manner as much as possible.
• Some foreign words or phrases found in alternative texts for images used on the website, descriptions of links, and headings are often not pronounced correctly by assistive technologies such as screen readers. Currently, it is not technically possible to edit the pronunciation.
• For displaying overviews (grids and some sliders), the website uses WP Grid Builder. Despite contrary claims by the manufacturer, this technology is not fully accessible; while it is possible to operate in an accessible manner, in some cases, assistive technologies such as screen readers may provide irrelevant information.

2.2 Disproportionate Burden:

For some recorded videos and audio files, the required audio description or a textual alternative (WCAG Success Criteria 1.2.3 (Audio Description) and 1.2.5 (Media Alternative)) is missing, making the spoken content unavailable to deaf users. We believe that providing a solution would constitute a disproportionate burden as per the accessibility requirements.

2.3 Content Exempted from the Scope:

• Some proper names used on the website, such as the names of our offers, are not correctly rendered by assistive technologies like screen readers. Proper names are explicitly exempt from WCAG Success Criterion 3.1.2 (Language of Parts of the Website Content) and therefore may not be heard with the correct pronunciation.
• Some abbreviations used on the website are not correctly rendered by assistive technologies like screen readers. WCAG Success Criterion 3.1.4 (Abbreviations) is not required for Level AA of WCAG 2.2.
• Content from third parties that is not developed, funded, or controlled by HARISCH F&B GMBH is also not subject to the requirements of the Accessibility Act (BaFG).
